Today, probably everyone knows that excessive consumption of sugar is fraught with health problems. But usually the awareness of people is not connected with western medicine where the issue is limited to “diabetes and overweight.”
⠀ I want to expand your understanding of the dangers of processed sugar (and simple sugar in general) a little and give a list of other serious consequences, which I will talk about in more detail in future posts. ⠀ So, excess sugar leads to: ▪ Emotional dysregulation ▪ Difficulties in focused attention ▪ Dependencies ▪ Alcoholism ▪ Sleep disorders ▪ Depression and aggression ▪ Eating disorders (taste disorders included) leading to malnutrition ▪ Weakened immunity ▪ Slowed down metabolic processes ▪ Sexual dysfunctions ▪ Sleep disorders ▪ Overweight ▪ Low self-esteem ⠀ Impressive list, isn’t it? I do not urge you to completely give up sugar, we are all human, everyone sometimes wants to eat something sweet- I just urge you to know when to stop. Health is more valuable, right?
